Celebrating a Month of Growth and Success

Dear SBA Community,

As we kick off the new year, it's time to reflect on the highlights and successes of January here at the Southland Basketball Association. From bustling camps to the return of weekly women's runs, January was filled with excitement and progress. Let's dive into some of the fantastic events and initiatives that took place last month.

Camps Galore:

We kicked off January with two exciting basketball camps on the 22nd and 23rd. With a total of 48 enthusiastic young players in attendance, our camps were buzzing with energy and learning. From honing essential skills to engaging in friendly games, our campers had a blast while developing their basketball prowess.

Youth Engagement:

Throughout the summer, our courts were abuzz with activity as young players flocked to train and shoot hoops. Multiple daily training sessions catered to diverse groups, fostering a vibrant and inclusive basketball community. It's inspiring to witness such dedication and passion among our youth, driving the growth of basketball in our region.

Open Women's Runs:

We're thrilled to announce the return of our open women's runs, now back up and running every week. Providing a space for women of all skill levels to come together, these runs are not just about basketball but also about building connections and empowerment through sport. Join us weekly as we celebrate the joy of basketball with our dedicated female players.

Looking Ahead to February:

As we gear up for another exciting month, mark your calendars for these upcoming events:

- Girls Got Game: Starting on February 11th, Girls Got Game returns to empower young female players and foster their love for the game.

- Kiwihoops: Get ready for Kiwihoops sessions starting on February 12th for years 5-8 and 14th for years 1-4, offering a fun and engaging basketball experience for our youngest players.

- Summer Social League: The much-anticipated Summer Social League kicks off on February 12th, promising friendly competition and camaraderie on the court.

- Representative Trials: February 11th marks the beginning of representative trials, where aspiring players have the opportunity to showcase their skills and represent our association with pride.

As we embrace the new year with enthusiasm and determination, let's continue to support and uplift one another in our shared love for basketball. Thank you to everyone who contributed to the success of January, and let's make February even more remarkable!
